What a day!  The 2nd day was even better than the first :-)  The students have been wonderful and I have been getting so much participation and have been able to interact with all of them.  I was a little worried because I had heard some difficult stories about the cultural differences.  However, what I have learned to be most important is...

DON'T LISTEN TO WHAT PEOPLE SAY.  THEY RARELY WANT TO TELL YOU THE GOOD STUFF!

I know it's only two days in but it has been nothing like I was told it would be, it is so much better.

Of course, I harped about how wonderful the weather has been and today it rained :-(  Hopefully it will clear up for the weekend so we will have nice weather for the throwing party and to go berry picking.

They gave me an iPad yesterday and I have yet to touch it.  This is a lot of technology for someone who until moving to AK didn't have internet or cable!  LOL

Picture time!

No one is worried about stealing here... All of the students that ride bikes just make a pile in front of the school.

  1. Hi, Jessa! Got your log spot address last night and I just love your posts! Such a fascinating teaching experience and place to live! Maybe Santa can bring your students a bike rack - although the picture is great because I can just see the students biking excitedly to school, dump their bikes and are totally ready for a fun school day! :)
