Spirit Week!

So I've been terrible with updating my blog.  I'm sorry but my excuse... as usual... is that I am so busy!  LOL!  This week is spirit week at school and today was twin day so Aimee, Emily, and I all wore flannel shirts, jeans, tennis shoes, and white hair bands.  The funny thing is that most of the kids thought we were just wearing Halloween costumes and trying to look like lumberjacks!  It didn't get old all day and kept me in a good mood :-)   (Not that I have been in a bad mood since I got here.)  I realized that it is going to be November soon and that three months have already gone by.  I feel like I've been here a week or two... not three months!  So crazy!  Tomorrow the high school teachers are going to wear our costumes which Leah and I made/picked out.  It is going to be great!  LOL!  They guys have been gracious and have been putting up with our plan.  What gentlemen!

Aimee, Me, and Emily as triplets... NOT lumberjacks!  LOL

So the weather has changed.  We had a light snow on Monday from which most of the remnants are gone.  But people are getting out their snow machines and some have already gone ice fishing.  A friend from school brought me a bag of smelt today!  We are going to fry them up tomorrow!  YUM!  I think we are going to go ice fishing next weekend since I will be in Bethel this weekend.  I bought a seal skin and beaver hat!  It fits me perfectly and is the warmest hat that I have ever worn, by far!  And it's so beautiful!  Next paycheck I am planning on getting some seal skin gloves :-)

Seal skin with beaver hat :-)

I have been trying to get a lot of pictures of the water freezing and such!  It has been just so beautiful!  I took a walk on Sunday and although it was cold (around 20-25 degrees) I was able to stay outside for quite some time.  I walked around the village and then went out past the cemetery, into the tundra to take some more pictures.  It was a beautiful day and it felt great to just get out and walk!
